Anthony Asiimwe, the Vice President of ULS, speaking at the public engagement on Thursday, said that there are individuals in the military courts who are not visible and have no legal representation. He said that ULS shall take the lead in offering legal representation.
According to the prosecution, Accountant General Lawrence Ssemakula, Commissioner Treasury Services Jenifer Muhuruzi, and the senior IT officer Yawe Tonny being employed in the Ministry of Finance neglected to put in place measures to safeguard public funds hence resulting in a 652,588.2 US Dollars loss to the Government of Uganda.
Dr. Egwau was remanded to Soroti Government Prison on February 4, 2025, following his arrest on charges related to the death of Aluka, a parish chief from Kapelebyong District. Aluka passed away after seeking treatment at Dr. Egwau's Welfare Clinic in Soroti City.

Oscar Owacgiu, 19, was found guilty of defiling a 17-year-old minor in January in Opota village. Owacgiu, a student of Bricklaying and Concrete Practice at Gateway Vocational School in Kitgum, admitted to the charges and was sentenced to one year and six months in prison.
The suspects are Edward Kaweesi alias Hammer Male, a 25-year-old boda-boda rider and resident of Masajja Kibira, Makindye Division, and Mohammad Ssenyange alias Meddy, a 28-year-old resident of Masajja Kibira Zone in Makindye Division.
