Before Taremwa could take a plea in the case, Justice Kwesiga said that he could not hear the case due to a conflict of interest. He explained that the deceased Nteireho was a son to one of the clients he represented during private practice.
The State Attorney, Mariam Njuki told the court that Tayebwa defiled the victim on two separate occasions. He reportedly first defiled his victim in the garden where her mother had sent her to collect food and did it again at home while the victim’s mother was away.
Justice Kwesiga faulted the state for sanctioning a file that lacks concrete evidence. He made the statement after the State Attorney admitted that the file had been sanctioned based merely on the boy’s statement and that there were no other witnesses.

The state accuses Matsiko of unlawfully attempting to cause the death of Namutebi on 19th March 2019 after hitting her head with a hammer. The incident happened at their home in Kawuku, Kisubi Parish (Wakiso district).
