The LC1 chairperson of Atyak Juba, Tatisio Obeyo, said that NFA started claiming ownership of the land in 2001 when they settled in the area during 90\'\'s because they knew it was their ancestral land.
According to Gasma, President Yoweri Museveni halted the eviction of the residents in 2013 to give them ample time to find alternative land for settlement.
