Rehema Namwase, a resident of Luuka town council says the tournament will allow for the identification of rural talent, Uganda has failed to advance because football managers rely on urban based players in Jinja, Iganga, Bugiri and Kamuli municipalities of Busoga sub region.
Dimintiriya Byobona, a resident of Bugomba village is one of the farmers who have abandoned sugar cane growing in favor of coffee. Byobona owns 31 acres of land, which has been using for sugar cane growing.
Some of the victims suffered gunshot wounds, lost relatives and property during the insurgency that lasted a year between 1886 and 1987. About 2630 victims from the districts of Luuka, Jinja, Mayuge, Iganga, Kaliro and Namutumba in Busoga region have come together to demand that government compensates them.
