Jude Ogik, the family attorney says cremation was the last wish of the Worlds celebrated legend granted to him on Saturday. He, however, adds that preparations are underway to bring back the ashes to his ancestral home in Pabit Parish, Purongo Sub County, Nwoya district.
The Cross-Cultural Foundation of Uganda is rallying Acholi chiefdom to mainstream its dynamic cultural values, norms and practices in promoting womens rights and empowerment. The foundation on Tuesday launched two bilingual handbooks containing the field findings to guide the chiefdom in promoting women empowerment and womens rights among communities.
Gulu district chairperson Martin Ojara Mapenduzi, who is the chairperson of the forum, says a meeting will be held in Gulu on September 29th to further discuss the proposal. He says the event will be used to showcase the heritage potential for tourism attraction to the outside world.
