The leaders say that the area has hundreds of illegal border entry points which are used by the armed cattle rustlers both from Kenya, South Sudan, and within to gain access in and out of the area.
The refugees that include eleven Eritrean Nationals and a South Sudanese were intercepted on Friday aboard Kampala bound Gateway Bus. Police authorities say the refugees entered Uganda illegally through Kaabong.
Gerald Tumwesigye, the Officer in-Charge Kotido Police Station who led the operation to arrest the refugees, says they were intercepted aboard a Kampala bound Gateway Bus around 4:00am this morning.
