Kitgum district received a total of 1.2 billion Shillings to respond to the existing challenges of unemployment and poverty eradication. But only 160 million Shillings, representing 13 percent of the total has so far been recovered, according to James Okello POkidi, the Focal Point Person for the program.
The 16-member-committee established by the President opted for the consultation on the first day of its meeting at Gulu State Lodge in 4th Division barracks on Thursday. They also resolved to conduct further meetings in a neutral venue outside a military installation.
The district was in the process of purchasing the vehicle at the cost of 180 million Shillings. But a section of district councilors headed by Geoffrey Ocen, the former district Vice chairperson filed a petition in court, challenging the purchase.
