George Masengere, the Mukono Municipal Spokesperson says they are waiting for the tribunal to rule on the appeals whether or not to declare and dispose of debts of all academic institutions, factories and hotels that challenged the valuations.
The 41-km road connects the Kasensero Landing Site and Kyebe communities to the Kyotera–Mutukula highway. However, the road has been impassable for over two weeks after persistent seasonal rainfall that led to flooding in Toome where an area covering close to three kilometres was submerged.
Mwaka says the matter came to the limelight after residents reported to the authorities indicating that a team of officials from Aswa Ranch made an incursion into Tiima village where they are developing part of the land without providing locals and area leaders with adequate notification.
Basil Okello Onac, the Kwania District LC V Chairperson, says that the project hit a snag when the contractor ran short of funds and abandoned the site. He says the contract period has also elapsed, but they have granted the contractor’s request for an extension.
