Saka, the former councillor and Secretary for Works and Technical Services Arua district local government got 17,552 votes against Eric Dramviku of NRM who obtained 11,508 votes.
Three homes owned by people from Terego were partially destroyed and the occupants chased away by a group from Rigbo Sub County who invaded the area on Thursday claiming its part of Madi Okollo district area.
The new Terego district which will take effect on July 1, 2020 will have its headquarters at Leju trading centre along Arua-Terego-Yumbe highway. The approval of the new district evoked excitement among residents and leaders, a number of whom believe that the elevation was long overdue.
