According to the Fort Portal City Mayor Edison Asaba, the daily dues being paid by the vendors are a form of extortion meant to frustrate the marginalized city dwellers from growing their small scale businesses.
Rubindi Sub county has three parishes of Kariro, Rwamubizi, Nyamiriro and collects approximately 10million Shillings annually. The leadership is looking for 31 Million Shillings to construct new Administrative block.
According to the plan, the Kingdom will focus on 17 pillars which include, operationalizing the railway systems, upgrading of Kasese airstrip, revamping of Kilembe mines factory, Agriculture land management and sustainability and Tourism.
Richard Kalanzi, the Kabira Sub county LC III chairperson, says that the exercise has become very tricky without facilitation. He says that the government tasked them to register residents without providing any financial and logistical support to implement the directive.
Mohammed Okwir, the Adilang Sub-County LCIII Chairperson says that the families are now in dire need of urgent help adding that there is a possibility of food shortage in the next months due to crop destruction.
