According to a report obtained from the office of Nakasongola District Chief Administrative Officer, the district is facing 20 court suits from residents and civil servants. The court suits include 15 land cases, alleged unlawful dismissal, interdiction, deletion from payroll and failure to accord a right to a fair hearing.
The Chiefdom first launched the campaign to mobilize funds to construct the palace in 2012 but the efforts yielded no results. In 2020, Buruuli Chiefdom re-launched a campaign to fundraise Shillings 2 billion to construct a palace Isabaruuli.
Charles Lwanga, a resident of Kanga village, says that he cannot open up an account yet he refused to sign the RAP forms because of unfair compensation rates for their properties including land, coffee and houses compared to the rates given to the PAPs in Rakai and Lwengo districts.
