Since the resumption of public transport in June, Uganda is experiencing an increase of Covid-19 cases with a total of 1848 confirmed cases and 19 deaths. Among these 18379 are community cases that are followed up as contacts.

The Bushenyi District Covid19 Task Force Chairperson, Jolly Tibemanya has since denied the reports, which have gone viral on social media as false.

Through their umbrella body Bushenyi Journalists and Media Association, the journalists have petitioned Isaac Kawooya, the Bushenyi Resident District Commissioner against the conduct of the MP.
