The Ugandan team took charge of all four quarters thanks to a formidable force from a combination of staff and legislators, led by Central Youth MP, Sarah Babirye Kityo in Goal shooting, Kasese Woman MP, Winfred Kiiza in goal attack and Kiryandongo Woman MP, Jalia Bintu in Wing Attack.

African Leadership Institute Revamps Parliamentary Scorecard representation 1 2

The scorecard was first published in 2007, analyzing the performance of each legislator in both committee sittings and Plenary. But the second edition of the scorecard which was due to be released in January 2011 was delayed after disagreements that it could be used as a witch-hunting tool for the MPs, who were campaigning for another term in office. It did not see the light of the day.

Envoys Advise Uganda to Utilize EU’s Zero Tariff on Agricultural Produce European Union 1 4

The advice was given by the Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Uganda ambassador Attilio Pacifici, this afternoon, at the beginning of a four-day retreat bringing together envoys from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, The Kingdom of Netherlands and Sweden. The retreat is taking place at Mt. Elgon Hotel, Mbale.

Appointments Committee Vets New Supreme Court Judges Parliament 1 1

Those who appeared before the committee today include the current Director of Public Prosecution-DPP Mike Chibita, who was appointed a justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Flavian Zeija who was appointed Principle Judge and the Executive Chairman of Cipla Quality Chemical Industries Emmanuel Katongole, who was appointed Chairperson of the Uganda National Oil Company-UNOC.

The Ugandan parliamentary staff drew in their netball and football matches against staff from Kenya and Burundi. The Netball teams drew 21-21 while football teams drew 1-1.
