This means that, if assented to by the President, there will be a four per cent deduction on salaries of employees in the formal sector and a one per cent contribution from their employers, to contribute 1percent to the health scheme. Individuals in the informal sector will contribute an annual payment of 100, 000 Shillings.
The five-year Albertine Region Sustainability Development Project III was designed to upgrade two technical Institutions; the Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba and Uganda Technical College Kichwamba to international certification levels. The project that started in 2014 was also meant to construct a new institution in Nwoya District.

Robinah Nabbanja, the State Minister for Health announced that the government was withdrawing the bill, moments after the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga called for its second reading this afternoon. The Bill was first tabled before parliament for consideration in August 2019.
Kadaga reiterated her previous calls for the government to review the situation saying that country’s tourism sector is under threat due to curfew yet Entebbe International Airport is open.
Other reports also indicate that the tourism sector is one of the worst hit sectors of the country due to the different measures adopted by government to curb the spread of corona virus including restrictions on internal and international travel among others.

Parliament’s Rules, Discipline and Privilege Committee has proposed an amendment to the rules of procedure to allow for a Speaker of Parliament to resign voluntarily.
