The raid is believed to have been orchestrated by dozens of youth opposed to the relocation of the refugee occupied Palorinya Sub County to the newly created Obongi district that was curved from Moyo on July 1st, 2019. The attack left at least four men with broken hands and dozens of others with bruises.
Statistics from the National Task Force against human trafficking indicates that 674 cases of human trafficking have been reported to Police since 2016. Of these, only 59 cases have been convicted from the 176 cases taken to court.
