Kikonyogo says people such as Security Minister Jim Muhwezi performed excellently during his assignment as Director General of Security and Intelligence during the early years of National Resistance Movement (NRM) government. If Muhwezi acts with the same gusto as he used to do when he was Director General of Security and Intelligence, Kikonyogo think, he would get Masaka bijambiya murders arrested in a short time.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said over the weekend, that Police arrested Karungi Peter alias Other-Boys, a resident of Bweyogerere who has confessed to the murder, claiming that the producer had declined to pay his money.
The victims of the six prime suspects in Masaka City killings include Mukasa Idrisa who was a resident of Kikungwe, Mugerwa Francis alias Kizza who was a resident of Setala village, Kakooza Sulaiman who was a resident of Senya, Nampijja Muhangaza 78, who was a resident of Kasali, Yeye Peter who was a resident of Bisanje village, Mulindwa Mad 44, who was a resident of Kiteredde and Nakato Maria a resident of Kalagala.
According to reports, Opong returned from a drinking joint in a nearby trading center at around 9:00pm on Sunday and started assaulting his wife using a panga, leaving her in a critical state before he took off.

According to sources, the US embassy booked the three hotels from August 16, after the government announced that Uganda had agreed to host 2,000 Afghani evacuees.
Sources however say the hotels were booked by officials from the US Embassy in Kampala.
