According to Brig. Gen. Flavior Byekwaso, the Army spokesperson, the brigade is simply meant to beef up security in Kyotera especially Mutukula, Rakai and parts of Isingiro districts which share a borderline with Tanzania.
The Tanzanian national had temporarily been isolated at an undisclosed facility as health workers waited for an ambulance to transfer him together with four others to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.
The deceased include Mary Nanyonjo, 13, her sister Sharon Nazziwa, 15, and their 14-year-old cousin, Josephine Nakafeero. It is alleged that the trio drowned on Monday when they decided to cool off in the river after collecting firewood.
