KCCA Revenue Director, Fred Andema says properties in Makindye division have increased from 23,000 in 2003 when the last valuation roll was compiled to 51,000 properties in the report released today.
The transfer comes days after a petition by Kitgum Resident District Commissioner Christopher Omara against the Kitgum district police leadership which he accused of negligence of duty, extortion from members of the public and insubordination.
This followed a recent event in which a group of youth from the refugee hosting community threatened to lynch leaders of the Lutheran World Federation, the lead Implementing Partner of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees operations in Palorinya refugee settlement for terminating their contracts as incentive workers.
