Rose Namusisi, a businesswoman in Kalerwe dealing in tomatoes, onions, carrots and green pepper, says that the demand for tomatoes in Kenya and South Sudan has forced prices in Uganda to shoot up. Currently, a box of tomatoes costs between Shillings 380 000 – 420 000.
Sam Kigula, the LC 5 Chairman of Nakasongola district says that theft of animals has plunged pastoralists into poverty. He says Police has failed to end the thefts due to manpower problems. He says that to address the problem, they have resolved to form anti-cattle theft committees comprising seven vigilantes per village to patrol their village areas.
Not a single youth in Aduku Town Council has benefited from the fund, according to a report by the Aduku Town Council Gender and Community sector. The report indicates that most of the youths in the town council have shunned the program.

In May 2018, Alebtong district received Shillings 1 billion from the World Bank for the upgrade of the two Health Center to HCIII's under the Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer Program for Results- IFTPR, intended to improve health service delivery to the community. The district contracted Otada Holdings Company Limited to undertake the works.
