A windfall tax is a tax levied by Government against industries that have benefited the most from prevailing economic conditions causing those industries to experience above average profits.
The Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Matia Kasaija says eligible businesses will include all small businesses operated by individuals, groups, partnerships, and companies employing 5-49 people and with an annual turnover of 10 million to 100 million shillings.
The suspects are Deogratius Lukowe and wife Yudaya Namatovu, with a business woman Regina Nakyanzi and Dan Wassajja of Lutente village in Lukaya Town Council.
According to traders, the curfew is yet another hindrance to their operations as they are forced to close their businesses early to comply with the movement restriction times.
