William Komakech, the Kitgum Resident District Commissioner told Uganda Radio Network-URN in an earlier interview that the suspects will be handed over to South Sudan authorities upon the completition of their investigations. According to Komakech, the handover of the suspects is a good gesture towards promoting peace among the two countries and people occupying the international boundaries.
Wanje later told URN in a telephone interview that he could not facilitate the tour because the organizers did not make adequate preparation. He accused the district Speaker, Peter Obong and other members of the advance team who went for a feasibility study in Sironko District for failure to submit any report to his office on their findings.
Sam Wadri Nyakua, the Arua district LC V chairperson, says the regional lands office is failing to help the population secure their land. He says that securing a land title, which is supposed to take two weeks, takes forever at the lands office in Arua.
