According to Oola, thugs placed them at gunpoint and ordered them to hand over all the keys including the one for the store where he had kept the money. He explains that after robbing him, the thugs locked them inside the house and fled the scene.
Kenneth Okot, the Chairman of Atiak Town Council in Amuru District told URN that the animals have become a burden to the district authorities since they have to spend money on feeding and guarding them.
The fire believed to have been set by unknown people was first reported to the local authorities on Friday 10th. It escalated until Sunday evening when the Police Fire and Rescue Service team rushed to help put it out.

Ownership of the fertile Apaa strip of land that measures approximately 827 square miles is claimed by both the Adjumani and Amuru District local governments. Uganda Wildlife Authority [UWA] also claims that the land is part of East Madi Wildlife Game Reserve.
