The draft regulations include emission limits for industrial sources, cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other mobile sources, layout odor standards and requirements for indoor air, and address worker protection. They also establish a permit and compliance program for industrial sources and associated fees.
The Ag. Chairperson of the Uganda Human Rights Commission-UHRC Dr. Katebalirwe Amooti Wa Irumba, said that the status of press freedom in the country has generally improved but noted that during the 2021 electoral period and the COVID 19 lockdown, press freedom was challenged.

Josephine Naiga, a resident of Kikoba village in Nakitoma, says that she has been grazing and watering about 40 cows in the sanctuary. She says that since Nakasongola is a dry area, the availability of free pasture and water for their animals was a great relief to pastoralists.
