Julius Ssebugwawo, Chairperson of the district’s Health and Social Services Committee, revealed that the district is operating at only 26% of its approved staffing capacity. To address the shortfall, volunteers have been absorbed to fill the gap caused by the government’s low wage bill.
Patrick Nkalubo, the Sembabule LC V Chairperson, says that the district council has resolved to renew their demands by petitioning the Ministry of Land, Housing, and Urban Development, the Attorney General, and the Ministry of Local Government.
