"Since the 15th of last month our offices have been under siege there is no activity we can carry from there, we have written to the Inspector General of Police, the Electoral Commission chairperson, but they are also waiting for the orders from above. This is unconstitutional,” said David Lubongoya, the NUP Secretary-General.
The officials in trouble are Zenar Nasur, the Luwero District NRM Vice-Chairperson and Wasswa Tamale, the Publicity Secretary for the Party. They are accused of embezzling 29 Million Shillings meant for NRM flag bearers for District Councillor seats.
The elections were cancelled after the names and photos of Bruno Onzima an Independent candidate were attached to that of Suleiman Onzima of FDC and vice versa.
