David Alira, the party’s Secretary-General Alira said that they have kicked off consultations with security personnel to agree on how and when the event can be hosted following coronavirus standard operating procedures.
Tumwesigye petitioned the court challenging Arinaitwe’s victory on grounds that there was non-compliance with the provisions of the electoral laws and the failure to conduct the elections per the law affected the outcome of the results.
In a ruling delivered on Tuesday by Masaka High Registrar Agnes Nkonge, court declined the application filed by Wills Mbabazi Bamwesigye. Bamwesigye was seeking permission to further challenge Namayanja's election on academic grounds and irregular nomination by the Electoral Commission.
