NRM had dominated the Kasese Municipality Mayor’s seat since the creation of the municipality ten years ago. According to the official poll result, FDC’s Chance Kahindo Sibyavugha garnered 11,572 votes defeating NRM’s Godfrey Kabbyanga Baluku Kime who polled 10,937 votes.
The voting was further interrupted by rains that lasted over 30 minutes prompting polling Assistants, agents and voters to improvise shelters while others fled the polling stations temporarily.

In Kampala, the electorate were voting for the Lord Mayor, Directly Elected Councilors and Women Councilors for Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA). Candidates for the Lord Mayoral seat include incumbent Erias Lukwago, Nabilah Naggayi Ssempala, Joseph Mayanja, Daniel Kazibwe and Charles James Ssenkubuge, among others.
In Kampala, hundreds of voters flocked polling stations as early as 6 am to cast their ballot but many were disappointed by the late delivery of voting materials by the Electoral Commission.
Museveni was contesting with 10 other candidates in the race for the country's top office. According to declared results by EC Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama, Museveni won the with 5,851,037 votes (58.64 per cent).
The heavy deployment of police personnel and trucks didn’t deter hundreds of locals who joined Kyagulanyi from Pager Bridge for a procession that lasted nearly 30 minutes to his campaign venue at the District Forest Institute in Pandwong Division.

The protests started at 3 p.m. in Ndikuttamada in Masajjja division and ended past 7:30 pm after police officers, military police officers and plain-clothed security personnel dispersed the crowds with tear gas and live bullets. Five protestors were arrested.
