A team of European Union (EU) member state Ambassadors, led by the EU Ambassador to Uganda, Jan Sadek told Gen Saleh that Gen Muhoozi, in one of his controversial posts on X-platform (former Twitter), had threatened “to take us to his basement.”
Across several sub-counties, town councils, and municipality divisions, a significant number of former NRM Chairpersons and other long-term serving party officials failed to retain their positions in a move seemingly signaling leadership changes.
Florence Oyella Olango, the Assessment Area Coordinator for Station 40 in Gulu city told Uganda Radio Network Wednesday that since the exams started on May 2, none of the scouts have reported no incidence of malpractice. Olango noted that all eight accredited centers within Gulu city are under strict supervision by scouts to ensure examinations are conducted smoothly without any incidence.
Speaking in an interview with Uganda Radio Network, Todwong made it clear that all aspiring candidates, regardless of their political history must undergo the party’s internal primary elections.
Todwong noted that discussions on pertinent issues affecting the Acholi people must be a collective effort of all leaders and stakeholders but not a handful of legislators who think they care more about the Acholi community.
On Tuesday, the NRM held elections for LC1 flag bearers and party structures in 72,000 villages across the country, in preparation for the upcoming 2026 general elections. However, there have been reports of irregularities, including missing voter names, unregistered candidates, and illegal voting at some polling stations.
