The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has declared Cedric Babu Ndilima as its flag bearer for Kampala Central Constituency in the coming 2021 general election.
NRM chairman President Yoweri Museveni issued orders on Thursday that all known NRM voters in villages across the country should be allowed to vote provided they are recognized and known by village Chairpersons.
Voting materials like stationery, demarcating materials and COVID -19 sanitizing gadgets were not visible at Makerere rugby and football grounds, Africa and Complex halls where 19 polling stations in the NRM primaries are located.
By 9:00 am, no voting point in the constituency had got any voting materials. Many of the designated polling stations were bare, with no string to demarcate the areas or any election official visible. In some other places, last-minute changes of polling stations left many confused
According to Dr Tanga Odoi the NRM Electoral Commission Chairman, some of these candidates are in NRM strongholds which means that chances are very high that they will go through unopposed during the national elections.
