The committee chaired by the Kimanya-Kabonera Division Member of Parliament Abed Bwanika learnt that the city has under unclear circumstances lost a lot of its properties that including land in green spaces and road reserves.

In her ruling, lady Justice Ketra Katunguuka cited inconsistencies in Nandagire’s academic papers and eventual nomination. She overturned her victory on grounds that she did not qualify for election as a member of parliament.
Nalubega ran to court challenging Kinyamatama’s nomination by the Electoral Commission on grounds that she was not a registered voter anywhere in Uganda, which disqualifies her from being nominated and subsequent election for any elective position.

Justice Ketra Katunguuka dismissed the petition due to a lack of substantial evidence to prove the allegations against Nandagire. According to Katunguuka, Tushemerirwe failed to tell the court who her rival bribed.
Christine Ndiwalana Nandagire, who contested on the National Unity Platform-NUP ticket was declared the MP for Bukomansimbi North constituency. However, her election is challenged by the former area MP and National Resistance Movement
Namayanja, who ran on the National Unity Platform-NUP party ticket, won the polls with 28,824 votes against the petitioner who emerged third with 2,421 votes. Dissatisfied with the poll results, Bamwesigye ran to Masaka High Court seeking among other things the nullification of the election on grounds that the Electoral Commission contravened the laws governing elections.
Emmanuel Ddombo, the Director of Information and Public Relations in NRM, says the expansion of the cabinet is meant to improve government efficiency. However, Mpuuga, who also doubles as the Nyendo-Mukungwe division Member of Parliament in Masaka city faults the NRM caucus for overlooking other urgent needs of the country such as improving the facilities managing COVID-19 patients as opposed to rubberstamping a proposal that lacks significance to Ugandans.
The new local urban council is challenged with a lack of enough office space for both the political leadership and technical departments. The city is currently operating from the premises previously occupied by the former Masaka Municipal Council, some of which are appalling after spending years without repairs.
At least 36 people including leaders and supporters of NUP in Masaka district were arrested on November 18, 2020, shortly after the arrest of their party president and former Presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine while on his campaign trail in Luuka district.
Muhammad Nsubuga, the Greater Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson, says Ssempiira has already been transferred to Kampala following his arrest at Centenary Bank premises where he was scheduled to pick the bribe from the pensioner.
