The sub-county chairpersons have said that they failed to mobilize all their councillors to attend the function because they received late communication about the day's activities and could not secure transport on time.
The LC V Chairperson, Alex Mabiriizi had forwarded his name and that of Beatrice Keyijesha, the Lwajje Sub-county LC V councillor for appointment to the District Service Commission. However, councillors have rejected the move, saying they can only approve the two if they resign from their current positions.

Charles Aisu, the LC 3 Chairperson, Busamuzi Sub County, said the population in Buvuma district has grown big, arguing that a ferry that makes three routes a day with a capacity of 120 passengers is no longer enough for them.

Recently, the UPDF evicted over 100 people in Mpolwe village claiming that they had encroached on the forest land measuring 2,110 hectares. The residents had cut down all trees for charcoal.
According to Alex Mabirizi, the LCV District Chairperson LC5 says that they were supposed to receive 720 Million Shillings from the Ministry of Finance for completion of the building, but received 350 million shillings which is insufficient.
Daniel Onyango Opondo, a councillor of Lubya Sub County and Chairman of Finance and Administrative Committee, says that the district public accounts committee recently discovered that the funds were also channelled to roads that did not need maintenance.

He says the decision not to induct them could be a move by the technocrats to keep them ignorant so as to swindle government funds without any restraint.
The Buvuma District LC V Chairperson, Alex Mabirizi, acknowledged the problem of absenteeism. He explained that the workers are expected to work full time but most of them report for work on Tuesday and leave by Thursday, which is affecting service delivery.
