Imam Idi Kasozi, the head of the Uganda Muslim Youth Assembly, confirmed to Journalists that Muzaata was dead and that he learnt about the death of Muzaata shortly after he was from Kumar prayers. He said that the Muslim fraternity has lost an icon, a strong pillar who has been a strong person on speaking on issues that affect Islam.
Speaking to NRM leaders who were attending President Yoweri Museveni’s second campaign at the rugby grounds in Jinja City on Friday, Mukula argues that, Uganda suffered a political crisis in the post-independence times due to inexperienced leaders who acted on emotions rather than reason.
The four parties share among themselves 60 MPs with FDC having the lion’s share with 37 MPs, 15 for DP, seven for UPC and one for Jeema. However, for most of those 60 positions, not only is the NRM fronting candidates to try and capture them, but even other opposition parties want to capture the same seats.
The meeting which was convened at the City Mayor’s Gardens turned rowdy after some of the groups including Boda Boda Associations accused the program officials of dragging the process and using their names to get money.
