Washington Labeja, the West Nile regional traffic Police officer says traffic to and from West Nile has been diverted via Olwiyo Anaka, Gulu Town to Karuma through Kamdini. This follows an accident last night involving two fuel tankers which blocked the main Karuma-Pakwach highway.
The first group of vigilantes is stationed at Kigoogwa village, about 30 kilometers along the Kampala-Gulu highway. Part of their mandate involves impounding taxis that are not licensed to operate on the route.
Through his lawyer Abraham Mpumwiire, Baguma stated that he is a law abiding senior officer of the Uganda Police Force with no intention to abscond from the trial. He added that he has a permanent place of abode in Naalya, within the jurisdiction of the court, he voluntarily presented himself to Buganda Road Court on August 30 and that he is willing to present himself in court whenever needed.
