The LC 3 Chairperson of Kotido West Division, Peter Kaka Nangiro has identified the deceased as 14-year-old herds boy, Lokol Apalokol who was shot dead by the suspected Turkana raiders at Kalongolemugu grazing fields, just three kilometers from Nakapelimoru 403 brigade headquarters.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said the LDU office, whose particulars have been concealed, killed Sam Odukur, a suspect he had gone to arrest for assaulting his wife and a village Chairman, Musa Ssemakula.
Wilson Acuma, the leader of Apaa residents, says the suspects were arrested by officers from Adjumani central prison and taken to Openjinji prisons without recording statements. The officers were seen this morning recording statements from some of the affected people at Katerega Catholic Church. The affected families were brutally evicted from their homes by bailiffs from Maji Moto Auctioneers and Court Bailiffs in February this year.
Led by the Mazinga sub-county chairperson, Sunday Gerald Kayita, the residents complained of theft of property including boat engines, fish and timber to thugs. They claimed that some of the thugs are armed and don’t speak any Ugandan languages.
