In the letters, four-morning show presenters were issued with warnings over what the warriors described as continuous discussions on the security situation in Karamoja. Those warned include Timothy Eodu, Catherine Alany of Akica FM and Fiona Nambuya and Innocent Kodet of Ateker FM.
The Uganda Peoples’ Defense Force- UPDF soldiers at the 3rd Division recovered 150 illegal guns in the hands of civilians across the nine districts of Karamoja. This is almost twice, the number of guns recovered in 2019 and 2018 in the region.
Police arrested two NUP leaders who include Afua Namayimba, Division Councilor elect for Kyebando and Agnes Namukula Division elect Councilor for Rubaga. They are currently being detained at Kiira Road Police Station on charges of inciting violence.
In 2014, PSU received 2639 complaints, 2547 complaints were lodged in 2015, PSU registered 2660 complaints in 2016, PSU received 2271 complaints in 2017, the 2018 complaints stood at 2383 while PSU recorded 2174 complaints in the year 2019.
