According to Charles Twine, the Spokesperson of the CID Sserubugo hanged himself using a rope that broke the spinal code in the neck area. The post-mortem report was conducted at Mulago hospital by three senior surgeons and one independent doctor provided by the family. It was also conducted in the presence of one family member Abubakar Kikuubo and the District Vice Chairperson Joel Kayiira.
“Due to the prevailing situation of the Covid-19 (corona) pandemic, CID management has resolved to sanitize the CID headquarters starting 17/06/2021 to 20/06/2021. Staff under you shall be on call. We shall have the Director, Deputy Directors, Heads of Department/units and registry staff to come for work,” reads the Memo.
The Rwizi Region Police Spokesman, Samson Kasasira, says that the councillor was rushed to Mayanja Hospital in critical condition resulting from excessive bleeding. According to Kasasira, his condition deteriorated prompting his transfer to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
