A soldier who declined to be named says that they gave their colleague first aid and rushed him to hospital, but he bled profusely and succumbed to the injuries on arrival.
"We cleaned the wounds and rushed Oyet to Jinja hospital however, he lost a lot of blood and we lost him," he says.
The suspects, Gerald Sabiiti No.51086, Anthony Wanjala, No.64627, Jamada Wangiri No.68822, Kamada Katende No.69001, Fauhara Namwoyo No.55238, Wycliff Chepkwech all attached to Sironko CPS on the 19th of November this year robbed Ronald Sikoria a resident of Chepryayi village, Kwanyi Sub-County in Kween district while on his way home.
The suspect in custody is identified as Mathias Ssengoma, 17, who with others still at large allegedly committed the crime early this month at a farm in Gentebe village, Nsoga parish, Mijwala sub-county.
The conflict stems from an application to the Amuru District Land Board by the administrators of estates of late Yasoni Ojwang on 7 May 2021 for grant of freehold tenure of land measuring 1,353.7 hectares (5.2 square miles) in Langeta village, Pawel parish in Opara Sub-County.
