David Okao, the LCI Chairperson of Ayom-jeri village says that Obote has been living with his six children in the house after separating with his wife but residents were griped into shock after learning that he has been defiling his own daughter.
It is alleged that Oyuru picked a quarrel with the six suspects over a girl while at a drinking joint in Acenglyet market, however on his way home, the deceased was reportedly attacked by yet to be identified assailants who stabbed him with a kitchen knife to death.
It is alleged that the torture victim was arbitrarily made to pay one cow and three goats as fines for stealing a mobile phone worth 35,000 shillings, which prompted him to run to court seeking justice.
The items which include a keyboard, projector, Chairs, public address system and musical instruments were stolen from All Saints Church of Uganda Ibuje Archdeaconary headquarters in West Lango Diocese, last Friday.
According to records, 90 million shillings was meant for wage (Health and Administration), 72 million for Development Grant and 330 million shillings for the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development- USMID project.
Joel Omunu, an eye witness says the deceased gave Onono Shillings 2000 so as to use his smart phone for a day. However, the phone failed to work prompting Jogo to approach the suspect for a refund, which led to a fight.
Bosco Ejap, the Kidilani parish LC II chairperson, says they attempted to save the deceased from the wrath of the suspects in vain since they attacked him in a group. Ejap says they have teamed with police to hunt for the remaining suspect.
Police is yet to conduct postmortem on the deceased body to ascertain what could have caused his death.
According to the residents, each of them was entitled to Shillings 10,000 per every 200 meters of the roads maintained. The residents have since petitioned Apac Anti-Corruption Coalition-TAAC, a local NGO operating in Apac district to help investigate and establish why they haven’t been paid.
Nelson Okello, the district Engineer says the group must be verified before they can be paid.
