Okello Oryem, the Foreign Affairs State Minister, confirmed to URN Lumbuye's deportation. He, however, denied claims that he was taken to the Turkish Embassy, saying that it wasn’t necessary since he was formally handed over to the government before deportation.
After interrogation for over two hours, he was whisked away from the airport, at a time the airport staff had notified his relatives and journalists that Ssekitoleeko had been released and would exit like any other passenger.
