Ismail Mohammed, the mayor of Moroto municipality, noted that without first transforming people’s minds, there will be no improvement, even if many garbage trucks are brought to help in garbage collection.
Moroto Central Market was constructed under the government’s Markets and Agriculture Trade Improvement Program (MATIP), with funding from the Arab Bank of Economic Development in Africa (BADEA). The project, undertaken by Ambitious Construction Ltd was handed over to the municipality on October 17, 2021.

According to Emwodu, they have made several payment claims to the municipality without any success and no official communication has been given by the municipality.
