The suspected rebels include Corporal Victor Batal, 45, and Augustine Yakal, 21, all residents of Morobo County, Central Equatorial Province in South Sudan. Batal was arrested from Small London in Koboko District while Yakal from Busia in November 2020.

Security Council Renews UN Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan peace process

The Council decided to maintain the overall force levels of UNMISS with a troop ceiling of 17,000 troops. This includes a Regional Protection Force whose capacity will not exceed 4,000, troops and 2,101 police personnel, including individual police officers, formed police units and 78 corrections officers.
