Weyeye was grazing cattle with five other children on Wednesday evening when an unidentified man showed up with a machete and chopped off his head before vanishing from the scene. One of the boys, who witnessed the incident, says that the assailants targeted Weyeye because he was grazing cattle ahead of them.
Joseph Lyagoba, a resident of the area says that they were shocked to learn about the incident since Waiswa was known for cherishing his family. “It is hard for me to believe what just befell us, Waiswa was an exemplary husband who would even leave the trading center much earlier than anyone of us because he always wanted to spend more time with his children,” he said.
"We were tasked to ferry jerrycans of acid from the parking yard to the distillery plant on Tuesday. However, two of them burst and the acid spilled on us,” he said. Adding that, “The boss looked on and didn't bother giving us any first aid.”

Umar Musoke, one of the vendors who lost properties in the fire, says that they heard a big blast from the neighbouring kiosk, prompting all vendors to converge in the fire assembly point. He adds that not much was saved as they fled to save their dear lives from the flames which destroyed food items, beverages and electronics.
Muzamilu Izimba, a cyclist operating opposite the taxi park who witnessed the incident says that the deceased arrested two suspects at around 5:30 am. He adds that as Tanga was opening the police post cells, one of the suspects pushed him and cut his head before fleeing the scene.
