Abas Faama, the Nakilulwe Village LC I Chairperson, says that he has been receiving complaints from residents about a stranger roaming the village with a firearm to conduct night patrols and extort money from unsuspecting civilians. He stresses that the suspect together with others still at large would also snatch money and handbags from women at gunpoint.
He is wanted for conniving with others still at large to attack Nakaana on Tuesday last week. Nakaana is lying in hospital in critical condition. Police locked up the constable following pressure by residents and local authorities.
Fresh details show that the Director of Public Prosecutions declined to sanction charges against Bikanga citing lack of evidence connecting him to the murder. Bikanga was arrested after a member of Magaras family identified the voice in the ransom call recordings as that of his brother, Yakoob Byansi.
