The victims who are currently nursing injuries at Kamuli general hospital include 25-year-old Joel Waiswa and Jackson Muzimba aged 30 years. They were allegedly shot on Wednesday by Jimmy Ebong, a security guard attached to Security Systems Limited.
It is alleged that on Sunday night at around 11:30p.m, six suspected thugs armed with pangas, raided the farm and attacked Awori with an intention of disarming her and stealing the cattle from the farm. They allegedly grabbed her but, in self-defence, she discharged a bullet that hit one of the thugs.
Abbey Ngako, the Kiira Region Police spokesperson says the suspect is locked up at Jinja central police station. Ngako says detectives have been dispatched to investigate circumstances which led to the shooting.
