A statement signed by UPDF Spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire says that Kayihura was asked to report to the UPDF Chief of Defence Forces Gen David Muhoozi yesterday June 12, 2018. However, the helicopter that was dispatched to transport him from his home in Kashagama Lyantonde District did not get him there. He had reportedly travelled to Mbarara.
