While addressing journalists in her home in Namwendwa town council in Kamuli district on Sunday morning, Salamu argued that she withdrew the petition against Kadaga at the prompting of several elders from the Busoga sub-region indicating that decision would reduce conflicts between top leaders and their supporters alike.
Nakadama however stressed that accounting officers should be able to compile the requisite evidence confirming that the said persons are residents within the areas where they had been registered.
Musumba had filed the petition before the High Court in Jinja faulting both Kadaga and Electoral Commission for allegedly orchestrating irregularities, which affected the outcome of the January 2021 general election.
