John Kisembo Siriwayo, the Railway Ward LC IV councilor, says the floods caught many people unaware since it didnt rain in Kasese town. He says most households lost property since the floods occurred while they were at their work places and therefore couldnt protect them.
Samuel Odong, the Kasese Municipality Division Police Commander has called on the members of the public to help identify the bodies and volunteer information that will lead to the arrest of the masterminds of the killings.
A poison scare has this morning forced the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) to switch off water in Kasese Municipality. Kasese District Police Commander Michael Musani Sabila says unknown people told locals that the water had been poisoned by â€˜enemiesâ€™ of the Bakonzo and Rwenzururu Kingdom. NWSC area Manager for Kasese, Stanley Kamugisa, says samples of the water have been taken to NWSC laboratory in Kasese town for testing, which will last for three hours.
Kasese municipality through Alliance of Mayors initiative for Community Action on Aids at the Local Level [AMICAALL], has received a funding of Shs129 million from international civil society to build the capacity of the anti-aids club to sensitize communities in the district.
