Mumbere, together with close to 200 of his loyalists, was arrested on November 27, 2016, after a confrontation between the military and Rwenzururu Kingdom Royal Guards, which claimed more than 100 lives. He was later charged with 41 counts of murder, attempted murder, terrorism, treason, arson and malicious damage.
The commitment was announced by the Chief Coordinator Operation Wealth Creation OWC Gen Caleb Akandwanaho alias Salim Saleh on Saturday while meeting farmers at Mawa market in Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality
Gen Saleh has pitched camp in Kasese district for about three months now and has, among other things, seen the approval of a 119 billion Shillings investment plan by Kasese district council to be financed under the Agri-led project. But, he says that he has not been in a position to get good contact with the ordinary people, who form part of the population that depends on subsistence farming.
