Magufuli, 61, died on Wednesday at a hospital in Dar es Salaam. His death was announced by the then Vice President Samia Suhulu. Today, President Museveni visited the Tanzanian High Commission to pay tribute to Magufuli where he signed a condolence book.

State Minister for East African Community Affairs Maganda Julius who was presenting a statement on the 20 years of East African Integration was overruled by MPs saying the statement does not address the tense relations between Uganda and Rwanda.
Responding to questions from Journalists on Uganda borrowing a lot of loans for infrastructure development, Museveni praised China for giving Uganda loans for projects neglected by other partners. According to Museveni, this has enabled Uganda to save its money for other things, and use the loans, which have a longer repayment period.
