A recent murder case was reported to police on Sunday in Agago where an eighteen-year-old girl identified as Collins Acayo, a Senior two student of Adilang Secondary School in Agago, was discovered dead in the bush with a slit throat. Police report indicates that the deceased was allegedly murdered during a revenge attack in an interfamily feud.
Dr. Rogers Kalanda, the Northern Uganda Veterinary Inspector under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries revealed that the personnel in the affected districts have been acting for more than five years. District Veterinary Officers are typically responsible for organizing and operating animal health and protection services.
Edison Birema, the Otuke District Police Commander, says the hunt for the suspect cattle rustlers is ongoing. This the sixth time Otuke district is recording cattle raids by the suspected rustlers since the beginning of this year involving not less than 50 animals.
Robert Abak, the Otuke Resident District Commissioner told URN they have deployed both the Anti- Stock Theft Unit police personnel-ASTUS and UPDF soldiers to track on the suspected rustlers.
This is the second time the group is rustling cattle from this same Sub County within a space of one month.
